KillZone 2 Fans

Another rumor coming across our bow today is that Killzone 2 will be on the game shelves sometime in September 2008. There has been a lot of speculation about the game’s release date but this time the words are coming from Sony themselves. There has been numerous delays due to various reasons, and now Sony are confirming that it will happen in September. A possible date we heard, is September 18th, which is a Thursday. Fingers crossed that the date won’t slip any more and in the middle of September Killzone 2 will be released.

This first person shooter game has some of the craziest graphics to come on the PS3 and it is expected to be the cult classic from 2008. If you are looking to preorder killzone 2 you can do so via Amazon (see the link to the store on the left hand side).

How to install PS3 Themes

1. Download the theme above.
2. Prepare a storage media such as a Memory Stick Duo or a USB device.
3. Use a PC to create a folder named “PS3″ (without the quotes) on the storage media and create a subfolder named “THEME” (must be all uppercase, again, without the quotes) within that folder.
4. Copy the theme you downloaded (.p3t) to the “THEME” subfolder on the storage media.

5. Insert the storage media in the PS3 system.
6. In the XMB (Xross Media Bar), go to Settings (Settings) > Theme Settings (Theme Settings) > [Theme], and then select [Install].
7. Select the theme that was saved on the storage media. Note: The theme name may be different than the actual theme.

After installation has been completed, go to Settings (Settings) > Theme Settings (Theme Settings) > [Theme] again, and then select the theme.

Today I came across a great document that outlines how they improved the graphics in KillZone 2, it shows how all the different shading and rendering happens. If you ever wanted to know the difference between forward  and deferred rendering in computer games then this will help you.

KillZone 2 is the hottest game released for the Playstation 3 in 2008. It offers many improvements from it’s first Generation game Killzone which was released in 2004. Killzone was a first person shooter which rocked the gaming world with some of the best graphics ever seen on a PS2. In KillZone you play the role of a Squad Commander, but you play in a first person shooter position.
