PS3 with KillZone 2 bundle pack

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Sony is keeping everyone in suspense here about the KillZone2 PS3 Bundle. We’ve been waiting over a year longer than expected for the game, and now we are having problems finding out what will be in the Killzone 2 Bundle Pack when it comes. Our guess is that it will be with the 80GB harddrive, and will be around the $499.99 mark, which we think is well worth waiting for in case you are thinking of getting a PS3.

Typically Sony puts together a bundle pack for major releases, currently there is an offer for the latest Grand Turismo 5 game. Where you can get everything together for a discount price.

Killzone2 Pre-orders

Currently SonyStyle are not taking preorders. We did notice today that there is a product listed or the Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle (available at SonyStyle) and that comes with DUALSHOCK3 wireless controllers, but sadly you are also not quite able to buy that either, just yet.

Killzone 2 for the PS3

Here is the album art for Killzone 2. This game will be definitely take advantage of the PS3’s BlueRay storage capacity. These disks can hold over 2 gigabytes and we’re sure that every last memory location will be used. It’s amazing to see level of detail in the character models and how they are animated. This truly will be the game of 2008 and it comes from the imagination of Guerrilla Games.

Today I came across a great document that outlines how they improved the graphics in KillZone 2, it shows how all the different shading and rendering happens. If you ever wanted to know the difference between forward  and deferred rendering in computer games then this will help you.

IGN looks forward to Killzone 2

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Every year the games website IGN lists their top anticipated games. Their article here lists Killzone 2  only after Grand Theft Auto IV and LittleBigPlanet.

Why?: While some of the design elements and intense shootouts look like great fun, I’m more interested in this for the technical aspects to see what the PlayStation 3 can really do. The lighting effects and animation quality look absolutely amazing, and if it takes off like we expect it to, the game should raise the visual bar across the system. Let’s just hope the gameplay is as strong as the graphics, and that Guerilla can deliver a great online experience to boot.

If there is one game you buy this year, we would have to recommend Killzone 2. The superior graphics really take advantage of the image processing that PS3 can handle.
