Great news today to see that Killzone 2 is now on the Playstation’s platium list. Sales todate are around the 1.1 million sales value reports Gamespot.
Also coming later this month will be the add on packs for Killzone 2 it’s not know how much they will cost yet. But these add on packs, the Steel and Titanium Map Pack will be released on April 30th.
Justin Lee brings a great video from E3 2008, he interviews Kyle Shubel a managing producer from Sony. it’s great to see the range of weapons, and to hear that you will be driving tanks and other vehicles through out the game. Also the AI for your team members has really been improved, now they will notice you hiding and create cover, rather than just drones following you around the place. Kyle talks us through the first level and discusses the new 32 multi player option that will be on the PS3 Game.
Basically the new multiplayer options will revolve between different types of games, i.e. capture the flag, search and destroy, etc.

TalkPlaystation has published some really awesome screenshots from Killzone2. The lighting, shading and depth of colors really make the game look good. I was really impressed with the images. Simply the amount of detail on things, like walls , the ground are far superior to anything I’ve ever seen on a PS3 game.These images are a massive 1280px by 720px, so they are large enough to set as your desktop wall paper.
In fact I think I am going to use this one as my wallpaper.
The superior lighting and shading is shown here in the scenes in the warehouse. See how the surroundings change once you shoot the roof in the warehouse, and when you shot certain boxes they explode. In this video your character picks up some extra health and then continues on the missions. This is one of my favourite videos from Killzone2 to date !
Yes, it’s finally confirmed by Amazon, on their product page for Killzone 2 they are mentioning a release date of Saturday February 28th 2009. Now this seems to be a long way way off, but don’t you remember when we first had the cool videos of the game on the site ? It is now possible to pre-order Killzone 2, where you can jump into the queue 8 months before it’s due to be released. I’ve already gone ahead and put my order in, one of the reasons I decided to do it now is that the $60 price is pretty good. Over the last few years prices have gone up, and by purchasing it now I am guaranteed that I will get it for this price, and I know I will be one of the first people to get my hands on the game.
I wonder will Amazon be offering any coupons for Killzone 2. I know there were coupons available online for when the first one came out. Either way I am happy to order it now. Also Amazon has in the past released some items a few days early, so that they arrive at the destination on time, if this is the case I could probably get my hands on the game before the shops start to sell it ! I will be happily playing the game on my PS3, while there are thousands of others just waiting in a queue in front of a games store.

Here is another preview video, here we see more game play action. What really looks cool in Killzone 2 is the reactions of the characters when you shoot them. In this video we see how the characters stumble and fall back once they are shot in the head. The scope on the gun makes it easy to aim at the enemy and shoot them right in the middle of the head. You also see how you are the commander of the troop and you need to guide you troops safely into battle.
Here is a another cool video of a showing the game play in Killzone 2. I love how realistic the reloading of the guns is, and how the gun moves as the character moves. It really makes you think you are doing the walking ! Also in this video you see alot of the reloading of guns, and how they are animated. The weapons in Killzone2 look incredible. I can’t wait. Also at the end you see the character turning a wheel from something or other.

Sony is keeping everyone in suspense here about the KillZone2 PS3 Bundle. We’ve been waiting over a year longer than expected for the game, and now we are having problems finding out what will be in the Killzone 2 Bundle Pack when it comes. Our guess is that it will be with the 80GB harddrive, and will be around the $499.99 mark, which we think is well worth waiting for in case you are thinking of getting a PS3.
Typically Sony puts together a bundle pack for major releases, currently there is an offer for the latest Grand Turismo 5 game. Where you can get everything together for a discount price.
Currently SonyStyle are not taking preorders. We did notice today that there is a product listed or the Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle (available at SonyStyle) and that comes with DUALSHOCK3 wireless controllers, but sadly you are also not quite able to buy that either, just yet.
Another rumor coming across our bow today is that Killzone 2 will be on the game shelves sometime in September 2008. There has been a lot of speculation about the game’s release date but this time the words are coming from Sony themselves. There has been numerous delays due to various reasons, and now Sony are confirming that it will happen in September. A possible date we heard, is September 18th, which is a Thursday. Fingers crossed that the date won’t slip any more and in the middle of September Killzone 2 will be released.
